MEDICAL CASE MANAGEMENT

The objective of medical case management and especially nurse case management is to ensure that the injured workers receive timely and cost effective treatment. The nurse case manager provides a direct link between the insurer and the medical provider to make sure that issues regarding medical necessity, propriety of care and return to work are specifically addressed. Effective medical case managers also work as an intermediary with the injured worker by assisting them in understanding the nature of the injury, proposed treatment and return to work expectations.

All of the case managers are registered nurses and though we are proponents of field case management, we can assist with telephonic services if requested by the insurer or third party administrator. The nurse case managers assist with referrals to appropriate medical providers as well as scheduling appointments or consultations as required. Home visits can be scheduled to ensure patient contact and compliance with care when needed. We focus special attention on the catastrophic injuries including brain and spine injuries and we have extensive experience on how medical costs can be controlled through utilization review, prior authorizations, as well as appropriate referrals and transfers of care.

Injury Care serves the insurers, employers and workers in Nevada, Utah and Arizona with knowledge of the medical providers in the principle cities and outlying areas. You can expect timely reports and we do not charge incidental fees such as fuel costs, copy fees or fax charges.
